A Math Romance

They integrated from the very point of origin. Her curves were continuous, and even though he was odd, he was a real number. The day their lines first intersected, they became an ordered pair. From then on it was a continuous function. They were both in their prime, so in next to no time they were horizontal and parallel. She was awed by the magnitude of his perpendicular line, and he was amazed by her conical projections. “Bisect my angle!” she postulated each time she reached her local maximum. He taught her the chain rule as she implicitly defined the amplitude of his simple harmonic motion. They underwent multiple rotations of their axes, until at last they reached the vertex, the critical point, their finite limit. After that they slept like logs. Later she found him taking a right-handed limit, that was a problem, because it was an improper form. He meanwhile had realized that she was irrational, not to mention square. She approached her ex, so they diverged.

American Dad Quote

I just saw the greatest quote on American Dad:

“Isreal Pulls Out, Thankfully Gaza Isn’t Pregnent”

Always ride your bike on the right side of the sidewalk!

Hello All,

The weather is still fabulous! I’ve heard you’ve seen some signs of winter coming.. Well here in beautiful Stanford, I’m still regularly wearing shorts although the nights are colder than I was expecting which makes for some chilly bike rides home!

Speaking of bikes, mine broke! I tried to take it on my unicycle to get it fixed but that was a crazy idea. I did manage to get it fixed (which is a really good thing since they are like a necessity here!). I also almost got 2 $150US tickets for riding my bike on the wrong sidewalk and for not stopping at a road stop sign while I was on the sidewalk! God, California laws are weird! Luckily with all my sweet-talking, the cop let me off the hook.

This week I attended some more info sessions for Amazon, Google, and Microsoft. I got 2 t-shirts – one t-shirt is all scrunched up into the coolest package ever! I got a cool Nalgen water bottle from Amazon too.

I also got a haircut!

Well that’s about it. I hope everyone had a great week!

Passwords, registration, & signing your life away

Ok, there is now something between registration and “free for all” implemented. I have a password for the blog now, so just email me it, and if I know you, I’ll give it to you.

Sorry about this, we’ll see how much of a pain it is to have.

Paul

The Internet is a scary place

Sadly, there was some blog defacing today.

It came from 2 IPs. I don’t know if they are proxies or what, but I might have to institute some sort of registration.. We’ll see what happens..

The info on them is:

198.234.223.250 US UNITED STATES OHIO COLUMBUS STATE OF OHIO NETWORK

24.131.228.104 US UNITED STATES MICHIGAN ANN ARBOR COMCAST CABLE COMMUNICATIONS HOLDINGS INC

I’ll hammer their IPs for a while and see what info I can find. I’m also putting a blatant link to IPs on the comment page. Hope this helps!

On other notes, I played a game of Intermural Frisbe today. Wow those people are hardcore! 🙂 They talked about plays and formations and pass patterns and throw angles.. Very hard core, but I’m learning 🙂 We’ll see if I stick with it.

The Disneyland for Geeks

Hi all,

Things have been very busy here. Well what to talk about…

I’ve had some very cool assignment! I wrote an lexical analyser for the programming language COOL for my compilers class 🙂 We got to learn tools such as flex. The next part is using bison to make a parser. My assignments were pretty tough this week and they’re only going to get harder, so we’ll see how this goes…

Stanford is such an awesome place! (The Disneyland for Geeks)… This past week they’ve been having job presentations for Yahoo! and Adobe. These cool companies have been giving me lots of free swag – food, pens, and a soccer ball! You’ll have to come down and play soccer with me! Also, they accept interns from everywhere so you should really apply!!

Hope everything is good in Cowtown. I miss you guys!

I’m moving (or at least a part of me is)

Hi,

A quick update. I have moved the website to fileserver.stanford.edu. If anything isn’t working ,please let me know.

Also, I found the greatest quote on slashdot today!

Personally I prefer a man in the middle attack, but people tell me I’m kinky

🙂
